September 2018 - Caitlin Jackson-Tarlton (PGY3, Neurology)

Maritime Resident Doctors is pleased to announce Dr. Caitlin Jackson-Tarlton, a PGY3 in Neurology, as our Resident of the Month for September.

Our Resident of the Month award aims to improve resident well-being by recognizing and rewarding resident colleagues with exceptional achievements while maintaining a work-life balance. The criteria includes academic accomplishments, research activities, social events, family life, community involvement, humanitarian service, leadership, and more.

Caitlin was nominated by her peers, who began her nomination highlighting her great academic work.

"Caitlin is a resident who not only excels in academia, is heavily involved in research in the field of neurology, and also gives presentations at national conferences (such as Canadian Neurology Grand Rounds)"

The nomination goes on to describe her as "most importantly a well-balanced physician who is an exemplary colleague.

"(She) is a kind, patient consultant who takes her time to teach medical students during her very busy call - and even brings them baked goods and coffee from her local bakery."

When notified about the award, Caitlin replied that her secret to a work-like balance is simple: get a hammock and a golden retriever - both pictured above.

As the winner of this award, Caitlin will receive a $100 gift card.

Congratulations Caitlin from everyone at Maritime Resident Doctors on winning this award.
