Benefits After Residency
Your group benefits terminate the date you finish residency. You will need to arrange your health and dental benefits for after residency. You have many options, including private plans, plans through your provincial medical association and continuing with a Canada Life plan. Unfortunately, as you will no longer be paid by NSH and be a member of Mardocs, you no longer qualify for group benefits under our policy. For more information on how to arrange benefits post-residency with Canada Life, please contact: https://www.canadalife.com/insurance.html
Please note, you have 90-days- after your benefits terminate to submit any claims. Once your coverage is inactive, you will no longer have access to the Canada Life group net portal, so all claims will need to be submit via mail. For more info please contact 1-800-957-9777.
You can also contact the medical society of the province you will be practicing in to see what medical benefits plans they offer or endorse.
