Dalhousie Office of Resident Affairs

The Office of Resident Affairs in the Faculty of Medicine provides help, support and advocacy for residents in family medicine and specialty training programs across the Maritimes. Our priority is to ensure that postgraduate trainees are well supported and able to perform to the best of their abilities.

Our office has experience assisting residents struggling with:

• Stress and burnout
• Mental health concerns
• Academic performance issues
• Personal or family problems
• Physical illness
• Substance abuse

We encourage residents in distress to reach out early. All discussions are confidential. The Office of Resident Affairs is at arm’s-length from the PGME office and we do not share information without your consent.
