Resident of the Month Award

Objective: To improve resident well-being by recognizing and rewarding resident colleagues with exceptional achievements while maintaining a work-life balance.
Eligibility: All MarDocs residents are eligible to be nominated, with the exception of the Wellness Chair(s) as they are responsible for overseeing the awards process. Nominations can be submitted by fellow-residents or any work colleagues who finds the recipient worthy of recognition. Nominations can be made by completing the nomination form at www.mardocs.ca, explaining why the nominee merits recognition.
Nominees: The MarDocs Resident of the Month nominee should be a resident physician who exemplifies a balanced lifestyle and well-being. She/he should be noteworthy in one or many of the following areas:
- academic accomplishments
- research activities
- social events
- family life
- athletic pursuits
- community involvement
- humanitarian service
- leadership
- well-being initiatives
Please include any particular event or patient/co-worker encounter that made this person stand out as exemplary. A brief biography would also be helpful (place of birth, academic/personal history etc.).
Selection: When required, selection is through the MarDocs Well-Being Committee. Nominations will be kept on file at the MarDocs office for the rest of the academic year and may be awarded in a future month.
Award: The Resident of the Month will be awarded a prize valued at $100.00. A letter of award will be sent to the Resident recipient, as well as their Program Director and will be announced in MarDocs media such as newsletter, website or social media.
